drawing challenge: NEW THEME

i'm interested in other cultures
ancient cultures, distant and strange
with different customs, habits, traditions and rituals
such as the Polynesian
and moko, the permanent body and face marking by Maori especially
but
i want to broaden the subject....

i love drawing
and the nude
so
i want to combine these two
for the 120th drawing challenge of 09 - 10 november,
skin as canvas for art:

even though i myself have none  ;^))

yesterday i was in Leiden, that beautiful old town
a bit like Amsterdam, but smaller and friendlier
there was a Book Art Fair, but
the most i enjoyed my visit to the studio of my friend Simone
so much to see, to talk about, to laugh
so much inspiration
and
now i have a tiny Pilea peperomioides!!

gisteren was ik in Leiden, die mooie oude stad
een beetje als Amsterdam, maar dan kleiner en gemoedelijker
er was een Boekenkunstbeurs, maar
het meest genoot ik van mijn bezoek aan het atelier van mijn vriendin Simone
zoveel te zien, te bepraten, te lachen
zoveel inspiratie
en
nu heb ik een piepkleine Pilea peperomioides!!

the other day i played tourist together with our youngest
we visited many places he knew only from hearsay or the tv
like the ladies in the red light district and the coffeeshops
but also the well-known streets, squars and canals
we had a fine day and
amsterdam showed its best side


herfst in amsterdam
de andere dag speelde ik samen met onze jongste toerist
we bezochten allerlei plaatsen die hij alleen van horen zeggen of de tv kende
zoals de dames op de wallen en de coffeeshops
maar ook de bekende straten, pleinen en grachten
we hadden een fijne dag en
amsterdam liet zich van haar mooiste kant zien
