drawing challenge: tiles
the theme 'tiles' is chosen by sweet Ariane of die Rose
with the search term 'tiles' you can find
the most beautiful examples on the Internet
like the tile-mosaics on mosques or the
colorful tiles on palaces in southern Spain and Portugal
but
i am not such a colorful type ;^))
my love goes to the old Frisian whites
so for this challenge i made four
in the original size of 13,2 x 13,2 cm
with a simple painting of two, for me, important symbols
a cross, symbolizing positivity and a circle

Ohhh, dear Patrice,
BeantwoordenVerwijderendon't know where to start... your tiles are great, Dear!
First... I like your drawing very much, your plan. The proportions... delicious. Then the pattern! for me the cross like a sign of plus, too and even a meeting point... the circle... the inner side and the outside.
I love the active movement of the white tiles! a whole room with it... how great would that be?! And soft toned with your essential patterns... wow... Good job!
Thank you very much!
Love
xo Ariane.
PS In my head the repeating pattern... delight!
BeantwoordenVerwijderengood play! design 'rapport' is attractive, a bit of math i usually get wrong head on, but you've got it!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenthe whiteness of your tiles looks sumptuous too.
n♥

Patrice. The tile pattern gives me calm and peace to look at. Just lovely. Stunning simplicity. A breath of air. N, xo
BeantwoordenVerwijderenPatrice, I like very much your use of symbols which also mean so much to me to create these beautiful tiles. How cool that your pattern can be arranged to form two completely different patterns, which would be tow of the same, if the pattern gets repeated!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBest wishes for the new week, sus
Beautifully created tiles Patrice. I love the repeating pattern you have created, as well as the beautiful colour.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenPatrice! I just love your tiles! They would look make a positively beautiful shower wall.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHave a great week. xo Carole
So simple and pure. The color is calming too.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenwill you fire them or are they air dry clay?
