last week, while i enjoyed the so welcome sunshine
i heard the buzzing beez in the helleborus
so when the theme was announced i thought it would be easy ;^))
but then all these other (nice!) things came in between
which is why i'm late
and with an unfinished drawing....
but
with some bees!
i've made them years ago when the children were small
and we had a 'seasons branch' hung for the window
they are made of strobiles, yellow embroidery thread and some thin paper for the wings

vorige week, terwijl ik genoot van de zo welkome zon
hoorde ik de bijen zoemen in de helleborus
dus toen het thema werd aangekondigd dacht ik dat het gemakkelijk zou zijn; ^))
maar toen kwamen er allerlei andere (leuke!) dingen tussendoor
dat is waarom ik laat ben
en met een onvoltooide tekening ....
maar
met een aantal bijen!
ik heb ze jaren geleden gemaakt toen de kinderen klein waren
en we een 'seizoenen-tak' hadden opgehangen voor het raam
ze zijn gemaakt van elzenproppen, geel borduurgaren en wat dun papier voor de vleugels

printed in black printing ink on Charbonnel etching paper

after cleaning and declutter the fun part starts:
i make new groups of the things that i love
i buy soft pink magnolia branches
because our 7 year old tree is still
to small to cut branches from
and at the end of the afternoon
the sun shines right on those magnolias

na het schoonmaken en opruimen begint het leuke gedeelte:
ik maak nieuwe groepen van de dingen waar ik van hou
ik koop zacht roze magnolia takken
omdat onze 7 jaar oude boom nog steeds
te klein is om takken vanaf te snijden
en aan het einde van de middag
schijnt de zon precies op die magnolia's
hallo lente!

for me spring break means spring-clean!
with the windows wide open
i declutter, clean cabinets and wash the curtains
fresh air in the house and in my head
in a box i found these crocheted circles
with the colors of beach, sea and dunes
which will be once a blanket
i can almost smell it
spring is coming!
voor mij betekent voorjaarsvakantie voorjaarsschoonmaak!
met de ramen wijd open
ruim ik op, maak kasten schoon en was de gordijnen
frisse lucht in het huis en in mijn hoofd
in een doos vond ik deze gehaakte cirkels
met de kleuren van het strand, zee en de duinen
die eens een deken zullen zijn
ik kan het bijna ruiken
de lente komt eraan!
