drawing challenge 189: C O C O O N

It's time for more silence.


COCOON
drawing challenge 189

annually
at the end of the winter
i long for a soft white place
to hibernate
a cocoon
in which i can curl
a safe embrace
waiting for spring
before i get out
converted and 
with wings
in the color of the sky


i used a form that i crocheted years ago
and turned it into a cocoon on a branch
the bookprinting/quote and linocut 
are works that i made earlier

exhibition

together with Loes van Oosten and Romy Maasdam
i will have an exhibition from october till december
at Atelier Indrukwekkend in Delft
therefore i made something new
with feathers  ;^))



samen met Loes van Oosten en Romy Maasdam
heb ik een tentoonstelling van oktober tot december
bij Atelier Indrukwekkend in Delft
daarvoor maakte ik iets nieuws
met veren; ^))

finally.... an etsyshop update
boy, did that take long....
but it's done! 
these images are from a few weeks ago
when i was happily printing
just before i started my new job
.... i miss the smell of the printing ink
the sound of miss Stuttgart
soon, soon....
for now
very welcome in my shop!


eindelijk .... een etsyshop-update
jongen, wat duurde dat lang
maar het is gedaan!
deze foto's zijn van enkele weken geleden
toen gelukkig aan het afdrukken was
net voordat ik begon bij mijn nieuwe baan
.... ik mis de geur van de drukinkt
het geluid van miss Stuttgart
binnenkort, binnenkort....

over the past weeks i have been working on my plate 

inspired by a plate, Delfts blue, from the Qianlongperiode, 2nd half 18th century

for the exposition at Galerie XS
so coincidental ánd appropriate for this drawing challenge!

(unfortunately, the colors aren't quite right in this image....)



de afgelopen weken heb ik gewerkt aan mijn bord 
geïnspireerd door een bord, Delfts blauw, uit de Qianlongperiode, 2de helft 18e eeuw
for the expositie bij Galerie XS
zo toevallig én geschikt voor deze drawing challenge!

(helaas zijn de kleuren niet helemaal goed in deze afbeelding....)

this is (not) Delft

so far i have printed the first two layers blue
one lino block and the reduce method
for the third and last layer
which will be a nude (of course  ;^))
i'm going to use a new lino block

just a few more days
before the exhibition 'this is (not) Delft'
at Galerie XS



tot dusver heb ik twee lagen blauw afgedrukt
één lino blok en de reduceer methode
voor de derde en laatste laag
die een naakt zal zijn (natuurlijk; ^))
gebruik ik een nieuw lino blok

nog slechts een paar dagen
voor de opening van 'this is (not) Delft'

and to create a proof print of her linocut
on different types of paper with my favorite printing ink

for this giveaway i made this linocut of five dotted and striped feathers
printed in black printing ink on Charbonnel etching paper
250 gr off-white and 100% cotton, papersize 300x400 mm
limited edition of 12 
and 8 with goldcolored printing ink, see my etsyshop!

feathers

even though i do not feel well
(headaches, migraine and nausea: hurray! for the menopause)
they are ready, the dotted and striped feathers in black and gold
i will place them in my etsyshop this afternoon
in March they will be part of
the giveaway month of Vibeke, see here

hoewel ik me niet goed voel
(hoofdpijn, migraine en misselijkheid: hoera! voor de menopauze)
zijn ze klaar, de gestippelde en gestreepte veren in zwart en goud

but not this week
this week we had unexpectedly (and all four at the same time!!) the flu
i will spare you the details
we are well again, thank you
and 
this downy feather made me happy when i found it
an unexpected small happiness

daarvan word ik meestal blij 
een vrolijke opwinding
maar niet deze week
deze week hadden we onverwacht (en alle vier tegelijkertijd!!) griep
ik zal je de details besparen
we zijn weer beter, dank je
en 
dit donsveertje maakte me blij toen ik het vond
een onverwacht klein geluk

this year we spent the christmas days in barcelona!
sun, sea and a beautiful old town 
which we discovered by bike
five fine days

today i have drawn two winners

only yesterday i started making christmas cards
to late as always, therefor i made the same cards like last year
only now i printed them with goldcoloured ink
the sound of miss Stuttgart, the smell of the ink, how i love it!

once finished there was still some ink left
so i also printed a few  feathers  ;^))
that is the giveaway!

i made two sets consisting of:
two cards with a golden feather (A4 folded to size A5)
two glassine envelopes and two golden stickers
(like these cards from my shop)

gisteren ben ik begonnen met het maken van kerstkaarten
te laat zoals altijd, daarom maakte ik dezelfde kaarten als vorig jaar
alleen nu drukte ik deze met goudkleurige inkt
het geluid van miss Stuttgart, de geur van de inkt, wat hou ik daarvan!

eenmaal klaar was er nog wat inkt over
dus drukte ik ook nog een paar veren  ;^))
dat is de giveaway!

ik maakte twee sets bestaande uit:
twee kaarten met een gouden veer (A4 gevouwen tot A5)
twee pergamijn enveloppen en twee gouden stickers
(zoals deze kaarten uit mijn winkel)
als je deze wilt winnen laat een reactie achter met de reden waarom
op 28 december maak ik de twee winnaars bekend
veel geluk en een vrolijk kerstfeest !!!!

a week ago was de opening of my small but fine(!) exhibition
from today the linocuts are also for sale in my etsyshop


een week geleden was de opening van mijn kleine maar fijne expositie
vanaf vandaag zijn de linosneden ook te koop in mijn etsyshop

because the papersize is 50x70 cm
and miss Stuttgart can print to the size 35x44 cm....
it was a tough job
but it's done!

i think it's about nesting and nests
